Are you impelled to enlighten minds through ardent presentation? Want to give people the opportunity to learn from your successes and failures? Feelin’ like you’ve got some knowledge to drop? We may be interested in your story.
Submitting content for Docent Wisdom is a great way to participate in a collective effort to exercise minds. Preferred content will promote introspective thought, discuss ideas, and enhance a viewer’s ability to make better choices. Feel free to review this page for information about topics, guidelines, media formats, and the submission process.
Topics that we consider for Content
What topics do we consider? In short, almost anything. We are interested in varied discussions, perspectives, and presenters, but we do aim significantly above any lowest-common-denominator content. We will not consider any of the following:
• Propaganda.
• Pornography.
• Conspiracy theories.
• Attacks on any individuals or communities.
• Attempts to use the platform for any nefarious purposes.
We look for lessons and narratives that are nuanced introspective assessments of life; which tend to be foundations of good guidance and mentorship. You may choose the overall depth and detail of your submission; however, we do lean towards TED Talks and away from TikTok. Assume that when we review your submission we will be thinking like this:
| Intriguing and likely considered… | Meaningless and surely deleted… |
| I want to share how my experience growing up lower-middle class, going to culinary school, then getting my dream job as a sommelier has reshaped my thinking on social and economic class… | Just believe it and it will come true! |
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must meet appropriate quality standards to be considered for publication. We reserve the right to reject any submission at our discretion.
- We do not plan to edit your submission before it’s published, as we are interested in your presentation and your expression. Generally, submissions accepted for publication will be posted as submitted; however, if the submission contains highly questionable information, then a change may be requested. Review your written content for grammatical, spelling, and syntax errors prior to submission. Review your audio and video content for audio, encoding, and sync problems prior to submission.
- You may include links to references or self-serving destinations if the links add value to your submission (maximum 5). If any of the links direct to any content deemed inappropriate for publication then your entire submission will not be considered.
- We encourage you to include supporting photos or videos with your submission, as applicable. Do not violate any copyright protections when including photos or videos.
- You may include graphics (i.e. diagrams, flowcharts, and tables) as images. Do not include software application files.
- Submissions must be presented in English at this time.
- We do not compensate or pay for submissions at this time.
