Privacy Policy

Docent Wisdom respects your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal data and information. We will not ask for your personal information unless it is needed; we will not share your personal information except to comply with the law or to protect our rights (if applicable); and we will not store your personal information on servers that are not required for on-going operations. We don’t want it done to us; we will not do it to you.

Docent Wisdom considers Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to be information that can be used to distinguish or trace an individual’s identity, either alone or when combined with other personal or identifying information that is linked or linkable to a specific individual.

Website Visitors

When users visit and interact with the Docent Wisdom website some non-PII is collected. The information collected is the type that web browsers and servers typically make available (i.e., the browser type; the language preference; the referring site; the date and time of each visitor request). The purpose of collecting non-PII is to better understand how visitors use the website. Docent Wisdom may release non-PII in aggregate (e.g., reports on trends in the usage of its website) for marketing purposes.

Docent Wisdom also collects potentially PII, such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users and for users leaving comments on our distribution platforms. Docent Wisdom only discloses logged-in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses PII, as described under Protection of Personally Identifying Information (PII).

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

Some actions or activities on the Docent Wisdom website may require that a user submit PII, such as a username and email address, when contacting us or when posting comments. The amount and type of information that is collected depends on the interaction. Regardless of the interaction, Docent Wisdom collects the minimum amount of information necessary to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction. Docent Wisdom does not disclose PII other than as described under Protection of Personally Identifying Information (PII). Users have the option to refuse to supply PII, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Docent Wisdom may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors on the website (or other distribution channels, such as YouTube). For instance, Docent Wisdom may monitor the most popular pages that users visit or use spam-screening services provided by Akismet to help identify spam. Docent Wisdom may display this statistical information publicly or provide it to others. Docent Wisdom does not disclose PII, other than as described under Protection of Personally Identifying Information (PII).

Protection of Personally Identifying Information (PII)

Docent Wisdom discloses potentially PII, and PII, only to contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know the information in order to process it on our behalf or to manage our website; and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Contractors and affiliated organizations that are located outside of your home country may have access to some information, as some of the applications used internally were built by, are managed by, and are supported by, organizations outside of the United States.

Docent Wisdom will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone, other than to contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above. Docent Wisdom discloses potentially PII, and PII, only in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when Docent Wisdom believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Docent Wisdom, its third-party affiliates, or the public at large.

If you have supplied your email address to Docent Wisdom, then you may receive occasional emails to inform you of new features or happenings or to solicit your feedback. We reserve the right to distribute such information via any other distribution platforms. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Docent Wisdom takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially PII and PII.

General Data protection Regulation (GDPR)

Docent Wisdom is accessible and usable globally and some regulations may apply to global use of the site. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in European Union (EU) law on data protection and privacy in the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA). Docent Wisdom may collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from users completing forms on the website (consent may be requested under a Personal Data Agreement heading). The user directly provides Docent Wisdom with most of the data that we collect, which may include online registrations, order placements, customers surveys, message board communications, and emails. Data is also collected when a user interacts with our website via the user’s browser cookies. Docent Wisdom collects data to process submissions, orders, and emails. If a user purchases a product on Docent Wisdom sold by a third party, then the user’s data will be shared with the partner company so that they can process the order. None of a user’s data is stored outside of the systems used to process the data. Under GDPR, users have the following rights:

• The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that Docent Wisdom restrict the processing of your personal data (request review and determination required).
• The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to Docent Wisdom processing of your personal data (request review and determination required).
• The right to data portability – You have the right to request that Docent Wisdom transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you (request review and determination required).

Cookies

A cookie is a small file or a string of information that websites store on a visitor’s computer. All users of the website will be informed that if data is transferred to a third party. The acquirer may continue to use your personal information as set forth in the third party’s policies.

Advertising

Advertising (also abbreviated as an ‘ad’ or as ‘ads’) may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies on the user’s browser. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement in order to compile information about you or anyone using your computer. This information allows ad networks to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Docent Wisdom and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Spam

Any content identified as spam (unwanted, unsolicited digital communications sent out in bulk or targeted) is not saved on our servers unless the content was labeled spam in error and the identification as spam was determined to be a false positive. If a false positive is identified, then the communication is stored for enough time to assess the issues related to distributed spam and to improve the applications to avoid future false positives.

Privacy Policy Changes

Docent Wisdom may change its Privacy Policy at any time and at the sole discretion of Docent Wisdom. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to the Privacy Policy. If a user continues to visit and use the site after any change to the Privacy Policy, then the continued use constitutes acceptance of any change(s).
